Blender Jar

Summary:

  • BlendJet 2 is made of plastic while Aura Blender is made of borosilicate glass
  • Aura Blender has a larger capacity of 480 mL while BlendJet 2 is 475 mL
  • Aura Blender's jar has better clarity than BlendJet 2
  • Both jars come with measurement markings

At first glance, the BlendJet 2 is wider whereas the Aura Blender features a slimmer profile. Surprisingly, the Aura Blender has a larger capacity at 480 mL as compared to BlendJet 2 which is 475 mLBoth jars come with measurement markings which are helpful for measuring ingredients.

The next obvious difference lies in the material. BlendJet 2 is made of plastic while the Aura Blender is made of borosilicate glass.

As we all know, plastic is notorious for being toxic when in contact with high temperatures. This means that with a BlendJet 2, you can only make cold drinks with it, but it is not safe to blend anything warmer due to the risk of plastic leaching into food.

With an Aura Blender however, you can blend both cold and warm drinks safely, since borosilicate glass is well-known for its thermal resistance properties. This is a significant advantage as it allows for a wider range of usage for more recipes, including those that contain a warm ingredient or liquid.

The Aura Blender's jar has better clarity in comparison with the BlendJet 2's jar which has a bluish tint. This is largely due to the material used. Borosilicate glass looks and feels expensive, and is known for its great clarity. Unlike plastic, it is resistant to discolouration or stains over time.

Motor Base

Summary:

  • Both personal blenders have 6-point serrated stainless steel blades
  • Both personal blenders have a safety lock feature (blades do not activate without an attached jar)
  • BlendJet 2 charging port is at the front whereas Aura Blender charging port is concealed below

The motor base for both the BlendJet 2 and Aura Blender are pretty similar and feature 6-point stainless steel blades with serrated edges, which help to slice up ingredients effortlessly. This is an added advantage compared to other brands which have 4-point blades or only straight edge blades.

Both the BlendJet 2 and Aura Blender also have a safety lock feature, whereas the blades only activate when the jars are securely attached.

The only obvious difference lies in the location of the charging port. BlendJet 2 features a charging port at the front, whereas Aura Blender's charging port is concealed below.

Lids

Summary:

  • BlendJet 2's lid has an attached rubber carry strap
  • Aura Blender's lid has a concealed carry handle

BlendJet 2 has an attached rubber carry strap whereas the Aura Blender has a snap-on carry handle that can be concealed for a sleek look.

Convertible Feature

Summary:

  • BlendJet 2 is not convertible
  • Aura Blender can be converted into a lightweight drinking bottle
Non-convertible BlendJet 2 (left) vs Aura Blender converted into a bottle (right)

Another obvious difference is that the Aura Portable Blender packs an additional bottle cap attachment which allows you to convert it into a drinking bottle, whereas the BlendJet 2 is not convertible.

The convertible feature offers several advantages. Firstly, it gives users a peace of mind to drink directly from the jar, as some people may be worried about accidentally activating the blades while drinking.

Secondly, in its bottle form, the Aura Blender weighs only 395g, which is 35% lighter than the BlendJet 2 at 610g. This makes it more versatile and practical for carrying outdoors as a mini portable blender.
